The preview of the January 2015 issue of V-Jump has surfaced, unveiling the return of an archenemy of the Saiyans, Freeza. V-Jump has revealed the title and plot of Akira Toriyama’s new Dragon Ball Z 2015 movie as Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F (Dragon Ball Z: Revival of “F”). Akira Toriyama says that the ‘F’ in the title Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F stands for “Freeza,” who will be revived in the movie. This new Dragon Ball Z movie installment will be released in Japanese theaters in both 2D and 3D on April 18, 2015.

Originally reported by Anime News Network, no verification of plot details is available at the moment other than what has been revealed. The general plot synopsis by Anime News Network has been described as:

An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Freeza’s army Sorbet and Tagoma arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Freeza with the Dragon Balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, and the “F” that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived…!

On the movie poster it reveals the information regarding the film’s official title and release date:

ドラゴンボールZ 復活の「F」

公開日 遂に決定!!! 2015年4月18日(土)2D/3D全国超拡大公開!!!
Opening day, set at last!!! Saturday, 18 April 2015: A super-wide release nationwide in 2D and 3D!!!

The main poster for the film showcases Freeza in his final form and a serious Goku (with a new interesting looking outfit) and Vegeta, the Prince of all Saiyans behind the wicked space tyrant. Beerus and Whis from the previous film installment appear on the left. Gohan, (While it may resemble Yamcha, Yamcha has a scar on his face, which does not appear here.) Krillin (who appears Bald) and Piccolo make an appearance on the right, along with two completely new characters created by Akria Toriyama named Sorbet and Tagoma. Name puns for characters is a recurring joke in Dragon Ball, and Akria Toriyama states in the Super Exciting Guide volumes that the names of Freeza’s minions are based on “unified as food items that one puts inside a refrigerator”. The name “Sorbet” directly comes from the frozen dessert “sorbet”. The name “Tagoma” comes from the Japanese word for egg tamago (卵). The surviving remnants of Freeza’s army described as his servants, the short alien on the left is Sorbet and the tall alien on the right is named Tagoma, who is wearing a new scouter never seen before. Interestingly this scouter was mentioned by Toriyama in his interview about the secrets of scouters in the July 2014 issue of Saikyō Jump.

If you’re a soldier in Freeza’s army, you can have one made to order to fit your ear. The different screen colors can be chosen to fit the peculiarities of different aliens’ eyes, or to suit one’s tastes. Also, dual-eye types exist as well.

Akira Toriyama said he came up with the title while listening to the song “F” by a Japanese band named Maximum the Hormone, who he came to know personally through a friend. One of the band members told him that the song was ironically about Freeza himself. This is all of the news revealed for now. Stay tuned.

However, the movie is set with the place holder run time of 120 minutes (2 hours). This featured information comes from the “DB Scoop” on the upcoming Dragon Ball Z movie from the issue of V-Jump slated for release this Friday (November 21, 2014).
